The West Virginia Wesleyan Softball team picked up two key victories at Frostburg State this afternoon, 4-3 and 3-0. The Bobcats put up 19 hits between the two games, including 11 hits in the first game.

Game 1
Frostburg State put two runners in scoring position in the bottom of the 1st, scoring the first run on a dribbler in the infield and an RBI single to center. Wesleyan answered quickly, starting the top of the 2nd with a double play but bouncing back with four-straight singles with two of the them being RBI singles to tie it at 2.

In the bottom of the 3rd, FSU regained the lead with a pair of singles. From there, both offenses struggled to put much offense up on the board until WVWC began their comeback in the top of the 7th. Savannah O'Shields, Hallie Dinklocker and Bella Posey all singled to load the bases for Morgan Norris. Norris then reached on a fielder's choice to tie the game up.

Taylor Swartz singled to center with two outs to give Wesleyan the lead going into the bottom of the 7th. Frostburg's Jamie Roberts doubled and was able to get to third but Hannah Hudson closed the door with a strikeout, securing the win for Wesleyan 4-3.

Jamie Roberts went 2-4 and had 2 RBI for Frostburg with Brianna Munday adding an RBI as well. Sierra Sanderson was efficient at the plate, going 3-4. Sydney Theobald was handed the loss after going the full seven innings, giving up four runs (all earned) on 11 hits and two walks.

Taylor Swartz and Savannah O'Shields both gathered two hits and an RBI apiece. Morgan Norris and Jenna Christopher aided the Wesleyan offense with both getting an RBI. Hannah Hudson pitched another complete game, earning the win and giving up three runs (all earned) on nine hits and striking out nine.

Game 2
Wesleyan started the second game of the doubleheader off hot, plating three runs on three hits but were helped by three errors from the Frostburg defense. Hallie Dinklocker scored on an error and Kiley Turner brought home a pair with a single to make it 3-0 after the top of the 1st. Kendall Stoffel allowed no offense from the Frostburg side but Wesleyan struggled to put together much offense for the rest of the game either.

In the top of the 3rd, Wesleyan had two singles from Taylor Swartz and Kiley Turner, putting a runner in scoring position. No runs would be scored as the inning ended on a groundout. FSU put their first runner in scoring position in the bottom of the 5th, leaving with nothing on a groundout. Stoffel held a no-hitter until the bottom of the 7th when Frostburg began the inning with a single. This wouldn't hurt WVWC as Stoffel closed the game out with two popups and a groundout.

Brianna Powell had the lone hit for Frostburg. Jamie Roberts took the loss after going seven innings, giving up three runs (all unearned) on eight hits and one walk.

Hallie Dinklocker went 3-4 at the plate and Kiley Turner had a 2-3 performance for Wesleyan. Turner had an RBI as well. Kendall Stoffel picked up her seventh win of the season, pitching a complete game and giving up one hit with two walks and three strikeouts.
