Preview: Women’s Lacrosse Prepares For Weekend Matchups With Quincy & Notre Dame College | https://images.sidearmdev.com/
West Virginia Wesleyan Women's Lacrosse is back in action this weekend after being off for almost three weeks. The Bobcats host Quincy University on Saturday at 10 a.m. and begin MEC play on Sunday at home against Notre Dame College at 1 p.m.
LOOKING AT QUINCY
The Eagles enter (2-5) overall and have lost two in a row, recently losing to Notre Dame College on Thursday 11-8. Quincy is averaging 8.3 goals per game and getting off 22.0 shots per game. Danielle Robinson leads QU with 17 goals and 29 shots on goal. Amelia Ham is the only other double-digit scorer on the team with 11 goals.
Kathelene Kim is in her fourth season as Head Coach of the Eagles. In 2022, Kim was awarded GLVC Coach of the Year. She was named the first HC in the history of the program in 2018 after spending two seasons at Queens University (N.C.) where she won two SAC Tournament Championships and had an Elite Eight appearance in 2017.
LOOKING AT NOTRE DAME COLLEGE
The Falcons enter (1-5) overall after picking up their first win of the season at home against Quincy on Thursday. NDC is allowing 16.2 goals per game and opponents are getting of 29.0 shots compared to Notre Dame's 13.3 shots per game. Kendal Johnson leads the team in goals with nine and Grace Nickoloff is not too far behind with seven.
Ben Morhac is now in his fourth season leading the Notre Dame College Women's Lacrosse program. Morhac has led the Falcons to two-straight MEC Championships in 2021 and 2022. He has coached 19 All-MEC selections and has won a MEC Coach of the Year award.
LOOKING AT WEST VIRGINIA WESLEYAN
The Bobcats enter (0-5) overall with their last game being played on March 5th at Ohio Northern, where they lost 17-4.
Wesleyan scored a season-high eight goals in their 11-8 loss at Tiffin on March 4th. On the season, the Bobcats are averaging 5.0 goals per game and are giving up 17.6 goals per game. Gabriella Gomez ranks 4th in the MEC at 12.5 saves per game and Emma Adcock is 4th in the conference in goals per game at 2.0.
