The Bobcats of WVWC will travel to Frostburg, MD to kick off the 2022-23 Mountain East Conference play on Nov. 19th. The team will hit the court at 4 p.m. to face off against the Bobcats of Frostburg State.

The Vulcans come into the contest with an overall record of 1-1 on the 2022-23 season, after gaining a win over Wheeling 87-73 and dropping a game to West Liberty 94-85 at the MEC/P-SAC Tip-Off Challenge last weekend. Sophomore Keith Palek III currently leads California (Pa.) in points per game, averaging 21.0 and with a total of 42 between the Vulcan's first two contests. Freshman KJ McClurg is not far behind Palek averaging 20.0 points per game and totaling 40 points so far this season. McClurg also leads the team in rebounds with a total of 14 so far.
Danny Sancomb enters his fifth season as the Head Coach for the Vulcans. Saancomb has been on the staff for California (Pa.) for a total of ten years. Prior to his start at California (Pa.), Sancomb led the Cardinals of Wheeling for eleven seasons.
Scouting Frostburg State
Frostburg State enters Mountain East Conference play with an overall record of 0-2, after dropping two games to Bowie State and Fayetteville State last weekend. Senior, Agyei Edwards is currently leading the Bobcats scoring 19 points and totaling 10 rebounds in their first contest of the season, boasting a double-double. Edwards is currently averaging 18.5 points per game. Junior, Tairell Fletcher is just behind Edwards averaging 13.0 points per game himself.
Sean Brown Sr. is currently in his second season in the Head Coach role for the Bobcats. Brown began his coaching career at Frostburg State, serving as a graduate assistant from 2002-2004 before heading to Pitt-Bradford where he served as Head Coach for three years. Brown is an alum of Frostburg State himself, playing for the Bobcats from 1997-2002.
